Kontoyiannis House is a traditional Cyprus village house from the period before the 1890's. It has thick stone walls, lots of windows, built around a central courtyard with beautiful stone arches and wooden shutters which are a feature of Cypriot architecture.

In summer the cool courtyard is filled with grape vines and a riot of colour in the scattered flower pots. In winter it becomes a warm suntrap for a peaceful lunch.  The house plan is ideally suited for a self-catering holiday in Cyprus

The house is very near the village square and all amenities. Kontoyiannis house has its own secluded courtyard offering peace and privacy to its occupants - each apartment has its own private patio or balcony.  There is a barbecue area and traditional Cypriot oven in the courtyard available for all guests.

Kalavasos is a short 5 minute drive to Zigi Marina and 7 minutes to the popular but secluded Governors beach with wonderful local restaurants.

Also located in the village are numerous restaurants and outdoor eating places.

Kalavasos also has its very own wellness center at the Library Hotel which is just off the village square, where our guests can go and pamper themselves at discount prices!

Experience the real Cyprus. Mingle with the locals, take a stroll in the fruit and olive groves pick your own fruit and then go home to relax in the secluded courtyard with overhanging vines where you can just pick the fruit and eat it!

Accommodation and Pricing

The courtyard is a sun trap in the mornings so you can enjoy a day sunning yourself in the winter or in the shade under the vines in the evening in the summer.  Each apartment has it own patio, terrace or balcony ideal for outdoor eating summer or winter, it is warm enough even on sunny days in the winter! There is also a covered hallway with armchairs which is very comfortable!
